Smart Knitting Needlecraft - Ephemera 3 quatre

Another scanning session with the knitting, needlecraft, and crochet book/magazine. Good gifts for the holiday season... neat little knitted animals and such. And I'm not into babies, toddlers, or children of any sort. I am keen on these things, however, nod in admiration at those who create them, and happily, yes, keep a menagerie of stuffed/knitted/crocheted animals myself.

Interesting that the card was never actually posted (meaning 'sent', posted through the mail); as Mr Gus says, maybe they put it in an envelope with some other stuff (I thought, initially, that perhaps they'd handed it over in person).

Translation (literal) of back of postcard:

'Dear "Ma & Dad" I suppose you will have some of the children & grand children with you over the Holiday Season. I think you must be through drying fruit by this time. Fruit as well as everything else is cheap at present, even eggs are cheaper than they have been at any time in the past 2 years, 20^cts a doz. for standards. We have had lovely weather all fall and not very much rain. We expect to start our hatchery the first of Jan. I guess we won't have so many early orders but no doubt will get them later. We have some orders for Jan. Have you got your Radio, Dad? I'm sure you have. We listen in on K.N.X. Hollywood every Sun. eve. at 6:30 to hear Dr. Abell the Humanist give his talk.
